Hi lads, been meaning to do this for a while. I'll be posting base set ups for my top rated Clubman cars and a tuning guide so you can adapt the tunes to your driving style and for different tracks.

Hopefully, it will give members who don't have the time or inclination to test and tune all the candidates something to jump in and be competitive. Clubman Class cars are tuned at Trial Mountain to give a flexible all round set up.

I've also added links to tunes contributed by other members, so please feel free to post any set ups you are willing to share.

    Mazda RX-8 Type S 07

The RX-8 is probably the king of Class B. I used it as a late substitution for Q1 KOTR where it did great, just the driver let it down. The car has since been tweaked to be better suited to shorter tracks and I was quite astonished at the times it produced on Sports Hard tyres at Trial Mountain, almost a second faster than my 86GT which I thought was really quick.

The transmission tops out at 150 mph so will require new settings for the Ring, Bathurst etc. Give it a try, but it may have to go back on the banned list.

Great work rams, fair dues. I'll be having a spin tonight as I'm finding it the exact opposite with the RX8 and the GT86, I'm just about a second shy of the GT in the RX, but I have put a massive amount of time into the GT and its one of my fave cars in the game.

The '02 and '05 Cooper S get overlooked for Class C because they are overweight after full weight reduction, but nevertheless they are among the top performers in this class.

The transmission can be adjusted for top speed by adjusting final gear, make it longer (lower number) for higher top end.

Drives great for FWD and what it lacks pulling up hills it makes up for thanks to terrific cornering. You might want experiment with first and second gear for a better launch but it no longer bogs down to the extent of the default transmission setup.

Eggsellent work Graham, a real help to those like me who struggle not only with finding the time to tune but can't quite get there head around the effect of each setting and how to apply it.
I assume if you wanted the rear of the car a little looser you would reverse the guide when it comes to reducing oversteer, even if the car had no real detrimental understeer?
    Keep up the good work

    Great work G-man.

I will add this to the resources section as a guide. Keep them coming.

Yes, reversing steps for reducing oversteer will help induce more oversteer.

I tried to keep the guide simple but there are other techniques to setting up the car for better rotation.

You can use trail braking along with low LSD Decel and brake balance low front/higher rear to induce brake lift off oversteer for better rotation to apex. To create a little slip on exit, use your trusty toe adjustment and a little camber on the rear tyres which shouldn't adversely affect the balance of the rest of the set up.

Well didnt have as many cars as I thought, the mini and the MX5 however are fantastic setups. Also your setup guide is excellent and spot on. I applied it to some of my own "oddball" cars and the improvements were marked and brilliant. Thanks Ram. Major Kudos.

Got a couple more Class C to add then I'll be looking at Class A cars.
